Unless otherwise required by an Award or an Employment Agreement or instrument, then only employers with 15 or more employees are required to make redundancy payments to redundant staff.

Nevertheless, employers may still be required to consult with employees and to follow appropriate procedures when considering whether redundancies are to occur. Each situation is considered on its own merits, therefore please contact us if you require advice in respect of redundancy matters.
