E-signing Documents

Peacockes Solicitors is excited to announce that it now has the ability for clients and other parties to electronically sign documents using Docusign.

Docusign is an electronic signature platform which enables a person to sign documents electronically on various devices such as desktop computer, tablet and mobile phone.

Enabling legislation such as the Electronic Transactions Act 2000 (NSW) and recent amendments such as Electronic Transactions Amendment (Covid-19 Witnessing of Documents) Regulation 2020 (NSW) and the Treasury Laws Amendment (2021 Measures No.1) Act  now means that a wide array of documents can currently be signed electronically such as contracts for sale of land, deeds (with witnesses), as well as many other conveyancing and commercial documents (subject to time limitations).

The convenience of Docusign allows parties to sign and complete documents electronically in real time at home or work without the disadvantages of traditional practice to insist upon signatures to be written on paper and in “wet ink”, removing a considerable burden for some parties located in isolated rural and regional communities.

Please contact us by email at admin@peacockes.com or by phone (02) 6882 3133 if you require the use of Docusign in order to complete your next transaction electronically and efficiently.
